 BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE:   INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE
This month I wanted to address the subject of investment. Not the "give your business away" type of investment required to secure external funds from business angels nor the stocks and shares/bulls and bears, hedge-fund, fat-cat banker bonus investment . That's for your trusted independent financial advisor to guide you on and if you are one of the fortunate few that are in a position to be considering such activity then I wish you all the very best of luck.  THE COPENHAGEN SUMMIT ON CLIMATE CHANGE
The headline in my newspaper last week read - 500 corporate giants demand "Save Planet". In considering climate change I picture huge plumes of polluting smoke rising from industrial chimneys and assume that much of the blame for the rise in global temperature is down to big business and that they have little interest in reversing this process. ............ read more
ETHICAL LIVING AND THE NEED TO SAVE ELECTRICITY
Will our energy consumption kills us? It's possible, but doesn't have to be probable. Our energy consumption is basically what's been causing climate change. Most of our energy sources release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and this, in turn, helps to heat up the planet. But not all energy was created equal. Some energy sources are greener than others and many don't release any carbon dioxide at all. Plus, if we reduce our energy consumption we also reduce our C02 emissions. But it doesn't have to stop there. It is now possible to generate your own free energy to power your house. ............ read more

BOOK CHAIN - THE MASTERKEY SYSTEM
Why do some men achieve great success with little apparent effort, while others have great difficulty or fail completely to reach their ambitions and goals? This is the first question asked in The Master Key System and one that has occupied the minds of philosophers and life-coaches alike. Charles Haanel wrote this marvelous little book early last century and it gained popularity and notoriety in Silicon Valley as it has been suggested that almost every entrepreneur who made a fortune in recent years did so by studying the Master Key System. Bill Gates is, apparently, a fan.....read more

It looked at the relationship between maternal employment and health behaviours in 5 year old British children.  STELLA KEMP - DIARY
The night before my fist class in the Segregation unit in Portlaoise prison, I was my usual calm, unbothered self. Sleep wasn't coming easily though, so I pottered downstairs to make a cup of tea or something. My son was playing a game on the Xbox. It turned out to be Lara Croft flinging her fine form around, Zena Warrior, princess style, slicing zombies at a thrust of her highly trained hand or foot and climbing impossibly sheer rock faces. I was beginning to be her, as I watched her fearless never tiring struggle to get…… wherever she was going. I went to bed. And slept............. read more
 AN INTRODUCTION TO REIKI
You may or may not have heard of 'Reiki', you may have no idea what it is nor even have any idea of how to pronounce it (Ray-kee). This may be the first time you have ever encountered Reiki. On the other hand, you may be familiar with Reiki, you may have received Reiki, or perhaps you may even be a Reiki Healer. There are many things in existence that we as individuals and we collectively, as the human race, have yet to experience or discover, but they exist nonetheless. Reiki serves as just one example of this. It was in existence before you started to read this piece just as it will continue to exist when you have finished reading, regardless of whether you ever think about it again again. .... read more
