Lurline has been a councillor for 25 years. She has been a political activist for over 30 years. She was the first black councillor for the London Borough of Harrow and it's Mayor 2004/2005.

In 2005 Lurline was runner up Mayor of the Year Great Britain Award.

These are the bare bones of what is a truly extraordinary story of a remarkable woman and we are delighted that Lurline has agreed to share her story with the3rdi magazine.

SELF-ESTEEM IS ALSO A HEALTH ISSUE

Cordelia Ditton trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, has an MA (Hons) in sociology from the University of Glasgow and is a certified General Practitioner of NLP.

She has worked in theatre, television, film and radio, as a trainer for presenters and comedians and as a lecturer / director in drama schools.

She is a published playwright and has written numerous articles for newspapers and magazines.

Her company, voicebusiness, has been training people since 1996 in public speaking, presentation and communication skills.     Read more

DOES MY SIZE HOLD ME BACK?

Like the majority of the female population in the UK, I fall into the size 16+ category. This has never been a major problem for me, if it had I would have done something about it by now, but I do find myself asking the questions...does my weight hold me back?

The law says that we cannot discriminate against people because of their race, gender or age, yet it still goes on. Many people discriminate in different ways and if someone is 'out of shape' that can also throw up the question...‘is this a reflection on their business?‘.   More
